Firmato sul plinto di sinistra, “HANS SCHWATHE X 1928”
Svelato il 22 ottobre 1928 in Hanuschgasse, accanto all’Albertina, il monumento celebra Abraham a Sancta Clara (1644-1709) predicatore cattolico e scrittore. Per la trattazione delle linee del volto l’Abraham a Sancta Clara dialoga bene con l’Eberle del 1925 (post precedente). Bella la modellazione delle mani e del saio che nel dettaglio della fibbia rivela la modernità dell’opera.
The monument to Abraham a Sancta Clara (1644-1709) has been unveil on the 22 October 1928 in Hanuschgasse, near the Albertina; he was a catholic preacher and a writer. For the way in which he defines the face line Abraham a Sancta Clara is comparing with the Eberle of the 1925 (previous post). It’s beautiful the modelling of the hands and the tunic while in the detail of the buckle it reveals his modernity.
