New York, Herald square

L’imponente gruppo è affidato a C.J.

In the middle of Manhattan stands the monument that celebrates as James Gordon Bennett (1795-1872) - founder in 1835 of the New York Herald – as his son, James Gordon Bennett (1841-1918) who developed the newspaper. The overshadowing group has been entrusted to C.J. Antonin (1851-1919), constant presence at the Paris Salon where he in 1914 presented Patrie that with the Gordon Bennett’s Minerva shares the severe sight and the austere setting. The two men playing the bells in a complete artificial torsion are typical of the neo-renaissance inflection of the sculptor.
