Ritratto di Jules Dalou – Auguste Rodin
1883
Bronzo
Berlino, Alte Nationalgalerie
Rodin (1840-1917) employs a “Florentine cut”, it means under the shoulders, for his friend portrait, that was presented at the Salon in 1884, in honour to the price won by Jules Dalou (1838-1902) at the same exhibition.
There are a lot of versions of the bust, one is this in Berlin (http://www.alte-nationalgalerie.de/) and another one is in the Gnam collection in Rome, too.
