Dal 1991 la casa–studio di Ivan Meštrović (1883-1962) è divenuta una fondazione che ha consentito di cristallizzare quarant’anni di ricerca artistica. La collezione è ben distribuita tra gli arredi originari, il giardino e il portico abitualmente abitati da Meštrović. Dai bozzetti alle opere finite – Olga che allatta il figlio Tvrtko (1925), L’attesa (1928), la contorta Donna in agonia (1928)... – ogni pezzo è immerso nell’aura che le è propria e ovunque si respira la presenza dello scultore.
From 1991 the Ivan Meštrović’s house-atelier has become a foundation that has crystallized forty years of artistic research. The collection is well distributed between the original furniture, the garden and the porch usually lived by Meštrović. From the plasters to the final version of the works - Olga feeding Tvrtko (1925), The waiting (1928), Woman in agony (1928)... – each pieces has been dipped into its own “aura” and everywhere it’s possible to breathe the presence of the artist.
