Voluto da Vittorio Emanuele nel 1859 il monumento presenta una Vittoria che tiene nella sinistra la bandiera del Regno e nella destra la corona di foglie di quercia in riferimento al valore degli eroi caduti. Lombardi restituisce con grande morbidezza le stoffe, sia quelle dell’abito che della bandiera che si adagia al corpo dell’Allegoria, e indugia su dettagli narrativi negli episodi delle formelle del basamento.
Requested by Vittorio Emanuele in 1859 the monument presents a Victory that’s holding in the right hand the flag of the Unified Italy and on the other hand a crown on oak foils that reports to the value of the heros.
Lombardi realized with a great softness the stuff, both the one of the dress both the one of the flag that’s leading on the Allegory, and he lingers on the narrative details in the episodes of the basement.
