Con il Pasteur si chiude la carriera di Falguière (1831-1900), che proprio nel 1900 si aggiudica l’incarico per l’erezione del monumento portato però a termine da Victor Peter (1848-1918). Il chimico francese domina un basamento che incarna la sua battaglia contro la morte e le malattie: le sue scoperte ridussero la mortalità infantile per febbre e apportarono il vaccino contro la rabbia.
Pasteur is the last monument by Falguière (1831-1900), who in 1900 gains the commission for the monument that was ended by Victor Peter (1848-1918): the French chemist is at the top of the basement that is also the visualization of his battle against dead and diseases. His discoveries in fact reduced mortality from puerperal fever, and he created the first vaccine for rabies and anthrax.
