Il sacrario accoglie i corpi degli oltre mille soldati
caduti durante gli scontri dell’ottobre 1918 quando, grazie all’appoggio del
contingente dei fanti francese, l’esercito italiano liberò Valdobbiadene e
conquistò il Monte Cesen. Le due grandi madri in pietra – l’Italia e la Francia
– sono accomunate nel dolore per la morte dei figli defunti.
The Memorial
of Pederobba remembered the over 1000 soldiers – French and Italians - died in
the October 1918 in the operation that allowed to liberate Valdobbiadene and to
conquer the Cesen Mount. The two enormous mothers – Italy and France – are closed
by the pain for the death of their sons.
