La Fountain Stravinsky, voluta da Jacques Chirac nel 1982, è un’opera
complessa composta da sedici sculture mobili e spruzzanti acqua: le forme e i
suoni rimandano alle opere più celebri di Igor Stravinsky. La fontana è il
frutto della collaborazione di due artisti: Jean Tinguely e Niki de Saint Phalle
immediatamente riconoscibile per la vivacità cromatica e l’ironia.
The Fountain Stravinsky,
entrusted by Jacques Chiarc in 1982, is a complex work composed by sixteen sculptures,
moving and spraying water: the figures and the sounds remind to the major works
by Igor Stravinsky. The fountain is the fruit of the collaboration between Jean
Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle; she’s immediately recognizable for the chromatic
vivacity and her irony.
