Il Museo Fabre dedica un’ampia
retrospettiva all’opera di Claude Viallat, artista francese nato a Nîmes nel
1936. Un’intera carriera ruotata attorno alla forma di una macchia che ripete
nelle combinazioni più varie e sui supporti più differenti – ombrelli, tende,
teloni… – e che talvolta si fa oggetto sconfinando nella scultura. Nella
scultura Viallat opera una vera riflessione sulla forma, fatta di legni sottili
piegati alla geometria e di nodi in tessuto o corda.

The Fabre Museum consecrates a large retrospective to Claude Viallat,
French artist born in Nîmes in 1936. His entire career has turn around the same
shape - a sort of stein found for chance – combined in different chromatically combinations
and with different supports: umbrellas, tents, awnings. As sculptor Viallat
operates a real reflection on the form, made of thin logs bended in geometric
forms or textile knots.
