Le personificazioni di Roma e di Viterbo sono affidate a Silvio Canevari (1893-1931) formatosi all’Accademia di Roma e già noto per i monumenti ai caduti di Pistoia (1925) e di Civitacastellana (1926). Lo scultore viterbese rappresenta la sua stessa città come un fiero lottatore che si prepara al confronto; Roma invece ha le fattezze di un Ercole.
The personifications of Rome and Viterbo have been entrusted to Silvio Canevari (1893-1931) who had his education in the Rome’s Academy and he was already quite famous for the Fallen monument in Pistoia (1925) and in Civitacastellana (1926). The sculptor from Viterbo presents his own town as a pride fighter who is preparing to the match; Rome has instead the Hercules forms.
