1903
Bronzo e granito

The monument to Umberto I was funded by the rich mecenate Leonetto Ottolenghi and it was entrusted to Tabacchi (1831-1905) who unveiled it on the 4 October 1903 at the presence of Emanuele Filiberto duch of Aosta. Famous witness of the Italian Romanticism, Tabacchi was already arrived at the end of his career when he realized this monument in which the two allegories show on one side the necessary adoption of the celebrative sculpture issues and on the other side the lustful sensuality of the romantic current that also Tabacchi had taken part. The decorative details are in full déco style.
