Giace oggi in una condizione di semiabbandono il Cimarosa di Aversa, modellato da Jerace dopo i fortunati precedenti del Donizetti (cfr. post) e del Beethoven di cui riprende alcuni modalità compositive. Inaugurato il 16 giugno il monumento balza immediatamente sulle pagine di “Emporium” come «insieme semplice e calmo, ma con una idealizzazione così raggiunta che, mentre la vita anima le figure e dà verità alla scena, il pensiero ne è elevato e corre nel tempo [...]».
The monument to Domenico Cimarosa is today quite abandoned, it was modelled by Jerace after the famous proof of the Donizetti (see the post) and the Beethoven from which it takes some solutions. When the monument was inaugurated – 16 June 1930 – it had soon a great comment on the review “Emporium” because of «his simple and calm set, the idealisation and vivacity of the figures, while life is animating the scene, the thought goes through time [...]».
