Parigi, parco Monceau
Proprio nel parco in cui sovente passeggiano i protagonisti di Forte come la morte (1889) di Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893), nel 1897 Raoul Verlet svela un monumento in suo onore in cui il busto dello scrittore appare distaccato, posto su un’alta colonna, e ai piedi la sua musa o forse la stessa protagonista del romanzo che gli diede tanta fama. È certo invece che si tratti della musa la figura che ammanta il più moderno Alfred de Musset (1810-1857), opera impostata da A. Falguière e portata a termine nel 1906 da A. Mercié.
In the same park in which the protagonists of Fort comme la mort (1889) took a lot of promenades Raoul Verlet in 1897 unveiled a monument in honour of Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893): the bust of the writer stands on a column while a female figure, may be his muse or the same countess, protagonist of his novel, leans the basement. It’s sure on the contrary the muse of Alfred de Musset (1810-1857) the woman on his monument modelled by A. Falguière and ended in 1906 by A. Mercié.
