Inaugurato
il 18 giugno 1922, il monumento che commemora i caduti di Velo si deve ad
Eugenio Prati: un angelo – d’ascendenza monteverdiana - regge una spada, emblema
delle battaglie combattute, e al contempo un festone di fiori, simbolo del
sacrifico dei soldati. L’angelo si staglia contro una colonna sulla quale è
stata posta un’aquila bronzea a imperituro ricordo dell’audacia bellica.

Inaugurated on the 18th June 1922, the commemoration
of the soldiers in Velo is represented by an Eugenio Prati’s monument: the
sculptor modeled an angel – following Monteverdi’s example – holding a sword,
symbol of the battles, and at the same time a flower festoon in memory of the
soldiers sacrifice. On the top of the marble column, the bronze eagle remembers
the military brave.
