From Rome I move to Milan for another “artist present”, in this case it’s “Cavallo impennato” (Cavorted horse)  by Aligi sassu (1912-2000) who in 1929 entered in the near Brera Academy.
“Cavallo impennato” was gifted at the city in 1960 and it has become one of the symbol of the quarter where on a bookstall he bought “Pittura e Scultura futuriste” by Umberto Boccioni that has a quite influence on his production. The horse, a theme really frequent, becomes in this case a pretense for a reflection on the matter modelling: Sassu underlines in fact the fluxes, the clots, the light reflection of the form.
