A cinquant’anni dalla scomparsa del martire istriano, Alberti (1915-1976) svelò l’espressivo monumento di Nazario Sauro (1880-1916), colui che proprio in mare, come tenente di vascello, combatté per l’irredentismo italiano. Il gruppo è risolto attraverso forme ieratiche e massicce come s’addice alla monumentalità della seconda metà degli anni sessanta.
