Quando Augusto Benvenuti (1839-1899) si aggiudica l’incarico per il Giorgione di Castelfranco Veneto è alla sua prima esperienza monumentale: egli rispetta la storiografia artistica tradizionale e licenzia l’effige romantica di un giovane pittore in abiti storici.

When Augusto Benvenuti (1839-1899) has the charge to realize the Giorgione in Castelfranco Veneto he was at his first monumental experience: he respects the traditional artistic historiography and he presents the Romantic imagine of a young artist wearing historical dresses.
