La mostra dà conto dell’intera
parabola artistica dello scultore ufficiale di Napoleone III: dagli studi della
statuaria classica al noto Pescatore,
con numerosi esempi di ritrattistica e una piccola sezione dedicata al Carpeaux
di soggetto religioso. Parte della mostra è volutamente lasciata aperta, come
una piazza, a ospitare le maquette
dei grandi monumenti pubblici.

The exhibition presents the entire evolution of the artistic career of Carpeaux,
the official sculptor of Napoleon the 3th: the beginnings with some studies on
the ancient examples, to the famous Pescatore, to some portraits and also a little section
dedicated to the religious works. Part of the show has kept open, as a place,
with the big plaster of the public monuments.
