Cugino di Stendhal, Ernest
Hébert (1817-1908) trascorse lungo tempo nella casa estiva alle porte di
Grenoble. Alla sua morte la moglie, Gabrielle, la trasforma in un museo che
raccoglie alcuni dipinti, inclusi quelli degli anni come direttore di Villa
Medici a Roma, e opere di artisti a lui vicino, ma soprattutto mantenendo
integra l’allure della casa-atelier.
Ernest Hébert (1817-1908), Stendhal’s cousin, spent a lot of time in his
summer house close to Grenoble. At his death, the wife – Gabrielle – created a
museum presenting some paintings – also of the period in Rome as Villa Medici
director, and works of other friends. Above all she was able to keep the atmosphere
of the atelier.
