In occasione del bicentenario
della scomparsa dell’imperatrice Joséphine, il Museo del Luxembourg le dedica
un’elegante mostra che ne racconta la vita, le passioni e soprattutto il gusto.
Un grande ritratto a figura intera di Jean Lagrange (d’après di F-J Bosio) apre
la mostra, per continuare col celebre busto di Napoleone di Charles Louis
Corbet. Sono in mostra anche il busto della neo-Imperatrice di Joseph Chinard e
l’Amore e Psiche commissionato ad
Antonio Canova, nonché e il ritratto di Antoine Jean Gros che la vede accanto
al busto del figlio, il principe Eugenio.

In the occasion of the bicentenary of Josephine Bonaparte’s death, the Luxembourg
Museum has organized an elegant exhibition on her life, passions and taste. A
big portrait in entire figure by Jean Lagrange (d’après from F-J Bosio) opens
the path of the exhibition to continue with the famous Napoleon bust by Charles
Louis Corbet. There are also the marble by Joseph Chinard, the Amore and Psyche entrusted to Antonio
Canova and the portrait by Antoine Jean Gros in which she is standing beside
the bust of her son, Prince Eugène.
