Monumento alla Fanteria – Bruxelles

Inaugurato il 5 maggio 1935, il massiccio monumento alla Fanteria belga nasce dalla collaborazione tra Edouard Vereycken e l’architetto De Mol, entrambi feriti in battaglia ed entrambi legati a una formazione accademica. Vereycken, che trascorse alcuni mesi a Roma grazie al Prix de Rome, e De Mol, docente all’accademia di Anversa, modellano dunque un insieme magniloquente e retorico.

The massive monument to the Belgian Foot Soldier, inaugurated on the 5^th May 1935, has been created by the collaboration between Edouard Vereycken and the architect De Mol, both blessed on battle and both coming from an academic ground. Vereycken gained in fact the Prix de Rome and De Mol, docent of the Academy in Anvers, modelled a rhetoric and magniloquent monument.
