Nel 1890 la Società Fratellanza Militare indice un concorso per il monumento a Cavour che vede però la luce solamente nel 1908.
La rosa dei bozzetti vede allineati Egidio Girelli, Tullio Montini e Carlo Spazzi (1854-1936) che infine avrà la meglio sui primi due, proponendo un buon ritratto a figura intera, in equilibrio fra celebrazione e antiretorica.

In 1890 the Società Fratellanza Militare wants a concourse for the Cavour’s monument that has been completed only in 1908.
The final range of the models lines up Egidio Girelli, Tullio Montini and Carlo Spazzi (1854-1936) who excelled on the other two with a good portrait in entire figure, in a perfect balance between celebration and anti-rhetoric.
