Altro evento collaterale della
Biennale è la mostra di Thomas Zipp, artista tedesco (Heppenheim, 1966). Il
lungo titolo si riferisce naturalmente a The
width of a circle, celebre canzone del 1970 di David Bowie, cercando di
approfondire visivamente alcuni temi toccati nel testo stesso - il pensiero di
Nietzsche, il sesso, il diavolo, le droghe – e al contempo riflettendo sul
concetto de “l’arc de cercle”, temine impiegato nella medicina psichiatrica
francese nel XIX secolo. Ne risulta un’articolata installazione site-specific
non di immediata lettura.
The solo exhibition of Thomas Zipp, German artist (Heppenheim, 1966), is
another collateral event of this Biennale. The long title refers of course to The width of a circle, famous David
Bowie’s song: starting from it Zipp tries to analyses some
themes, touched also in the lyric, as Nietzsche’s thought, sex, Evil, drugs and, at the same time, he reflects on the expression “l’arc de
cercle”, usually employed in the psychiatric medicine of the XIX century. The result
is an articulated site-specific installation, not so immediate in the message.
