Toots Zynsky (1951) è un’artista statunitense che ha imparato a lavorare il vetro alla Rhode Island School of Design, mettendo a punto la costruzione di oggetti-scultura, coitole nel caso di questa bella mostra, per filamenti vitrei. Le impercettibili scanalature e il sovrapporsi di fili cromatici donano all’oggetto sfumature mutevoli che bene s’adattano agli spazi antichi di Palazzo Loredan.

Toots Zynsky (1951) is an American artist who has learn the glass technique at the Rhode Island School of Design, perfecting the construction of object-sculptures, bowls in the case of this beautiful exhibition, made by glassy fibers. The slight channelling and the overlap of chromatic filaments gives to the work a variable hues. They are perfectly set in the ancient spaces of Palazzo Loredan.

A very light art è una collettiva i cui artisti sono legati all’idea della leggerezza: che siano le piume innestate su un telaio di bambù di Gabriel Orozco, o i vetri volutamente kitsch di Luigi Ontani, o l’installazione di Heimo Zobernig .. il rimando comune è il grande  lampadario Rezzonico, campione di fantasia creativa e virtuosismo tecnico, appeso da secoli nel palazzo che affaccia su Canal Grande. Sia per l’idea, che per l’inedito dialogo con la collezione permanete, la mostra è certamente tra le più interessanti dell’attuale offerta veneziana.

A very light art is a collective exhibition in which artists are connected by the idea of lightness: the feathers grafted on the bamboo frame or the kitsch glasses by Luigi Ontani or Heimo Zobernig’s installation … the common landmark is always the Rezzonico light, great example of creative phantasy and skill, hanged in the Palace facing Canal Grande. Both for the idea and both for the innovative dialogue with the permanent collection, the exhibition is sure one of the most interesting in this Venetian summer.
