Imagine è una splendida mostra che mette in relazione le due capitali dell’arte italiana (Roma e Torino) nel momento in cui l’immagine torna ad affiorare dopo l’esperienza del monocromo e occhieggia alla pop art con Schifano e Giosetta Fioroni, diviene pressoché metafisica con Gnoli e cerca un dialogo tra riproduzione meccanica e tradizione con Mimmo Rotella e Giulio Paolini. Ne esce un profilo straordinariamente internazionale e non convenzionale dell’arte italiana nella quale la scultura appare particolarmente… silenziosa.

Imagine is a gorgeous exhibition revealing the relation between the two capital cities of the Italian art (Roma and Turin) in the passage from the monochrome experience to the new figurative, with some winks at the pop art, as in Schifano and Giosetta Fioroni. The painting becomes almost metaphysic with Gnoli and is looking for a dialogue between the mechanical reproduction of reality and tradition in Mimmo Rotella and Giulio Paolini. The result is an extraordinary profile of the Italian art, totally unconventional in which sculpture is… silent.

TRA – o art se letto al contrario – è il titolo della suggestiva mostra allestita a palazzo Fortuny nell’ormai quarto connubio tra la collezione del belga Axel Vervoordt e il museo stesso, a cui si aggiungono prestiti internazionali. TRA, inteso letteralmente come momento di transizione, di passaggio, talvolta espliciti come nelle sculture di Giulio Paolini, nelle colonne di Ettore Spalletti, e nelle pietre di Anselmo o più sottile come nel caso dei buddha antichi che hanno attraversato i secoli.

TRA – or ART also if you read the word in the other sense – is the title of the suggestive exhibition in Palazzo Fortuny, where –for the 4th time – the collection of the Belgian Axel Vervoordt is mixed with the pieces of the museum itself and other international works. TRA, thought as a moment of transition, of passage, very clear in the case of Giulio Paolini, or in the columns by Ettore Spalletti, or in the stones by Anselmo. In other situations the theme has been sharper interpreted, for example in the antique buddhas that have crossed the centuries.
