L’inverno a Palazzo Fortuny è completamente al femminile: artiste, curatrici e allestitrice sono donne dalla forza straordinaria. Ogni piano presenta un’artista: le pittrici Ida Barbarigo e Romain Brooks, la fotografa Sarah Moon ma soprattutto una mostra al piano nobile dedicata a Henriette Fortuny. moglie, musa e “braccio” della rivoluzione tessile di Mariano Fortuny.

Winter at Palazzo Fortuny is a real female exhibition: artists, curators and the architect are women with an extraordinary strength. Each floor of the palace presents an artist: the painters Ida Barbarigo and Romain Brooks, the photographer Sarah Moon and moreover Henriette Fortuny. The piano nobile is dedicated to the wife, the muse and the “arm” of the fashion revolution by Mariano Fortuny.

Torna a Venezia Luisa Casati Stampa (1881-1957) in occasione di una mostra bella quanto la marchesa lo fu in vita. Nata a Milano nel 1881, visse tra Parigi, Londra e Venezia. Musa di artisti e scrittori, appassionata di occultismo e magia, inarrivabile trasformista, il poeta D’Annunzio la riteneva l’erede morale del marchese de Sade. Oltre ad alcuni celeberrimi ritratti della Casati – come quello di Boldini e di Troubetzkoy – la mostra ricrea il mondo dei personaggi che hanno fatto parte della sua vita – Robert de Montesquieu, Léon Bakst, Alberto Martini, lo stesso Fortuny… – e di coloro per i quali è stata una fonte d’ispirazione.

Luisa Casati Stampa (1881-1957) has come back to Venice in the occasion of an exhibition, that’s beautiful as fascinating was the Casati’s life. She was born in Milano in 1881 and lived between Paris, London and Venezia. She was the muse of artists and writers, passionate to occultism and magic rituals, the Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio thought she was the moral heiress of the marquise de Sade. Beside famous portraits – as the one by Boldini and by Troubetzkoy – the show recreates the world of personages who had taken part at her life - Robert de Montesquieu, Léon Bakst, Alberto Martini, and the same Fortuny… – and people for whom she is still a source of inspiration.

Primavera a Palazzo Fortuny

Il 7 marzo scorso ha riaperto Palazzo Fortuny con una serie di mostre che sul fronte della scultura permettono di ammirare i Gemito appartenuti allo stesso Mariano Fortuny, le creazioni di vetro di Ritsue Mishima, i fantasiosi gioielli di Barbara Paganin e una splendida testa scolpita da Picasso: un ritratto di Dora Maar. Proprio alla produzione fotografica della compagna di Picasso, ingegnosa e raffinata, è dedicato il secondo piano del palazzo.

The last 7 March Palazzo Fortuny has re-opened  with some new exhibitions that, on the matter of sculpture, present some Gemito, owned by the same Mariano Fortuny. There are also the glass creations by Ritsue Mishima, the original bijoux by Barbara Paganin and a gorgeous bronze head by Picasso: it’s a portrait of Dora Maar. And the second floor of the palace is entirely dedicated to the refined photography by Dora Maar.
