Anche Venezia ha i suoi Koons da quando F. Pinault ha “depositato” la sua collezione a Palazzo Grassi e proprio all’artista venne affidata l’accoglienza della mostra di apertura - Where are we going ? - con Hanging Heart (1994-2006) appeso nella corte centrale e Ballon Dog accanto all’entrata su Canal Grande.

Also Venice has its own Koons from when F. Pinault has “moved” his collection in Palazzo Grassi and the welcome of the opening exhibition – Where are we going ? – was just entrusted to the artist by Hanging Heart (1994-2006) hanged on the central court and Ballon Dog settled beside the entrance on Canal Grande.

Mentre alcune sculture di J. Koons dominano Central Park dal roof del Metropolitan Museum, a Chicago si è aperta una grande mostra - curata da Francesco Bonami - che ha già fatto scalpore per l’esorbitante cifra dell’assicurazione, tanto da rendere la retrospettiva troppo costosa per essere trasferita altrove. I fortunati dunque che potranno vedere la mostra a Chicago vi troveranno anche una delle tre versioni – per la precisione quella appartenuta alla gallerista newyorchese Ileana Sonnabend – di Rubbit (1986) il cui “fratellino” è recentemente stato battuto in asta per una cifra molto vicina agli 80 milioni di dollari. While the sculptures by J. Koons are dominating the roof of Metropolitan Museum in New York, a great exhibition is now opening in Chicago – curated by Francesco Bonami – and it’s already quite chattered for the enormous amount of the insurance, so high to not allow the transfer in any other museum. So people who will visit the exhibition in Chicago could admire also one of the three version of Rabbit (1986) – more exactly the one that has belonged to Ileana Sonnabend -: recently another version has been sold for something as 80 million dollars. Diverte sempre (1955) Jeff  Koons che colloca un fiore realizzato “piegando” un palloncino d’acciaio blu. Balloon Flower  è l’esempio perfetto di quanto l’artista statunitense riesca a trasformare – con maniacale attenzione al dettaglio -  l’iconografia popolare in mitologia.

Jeff  Koons (1955) is always funny; in Berlin he has realized a blue flower  by  the “bending” of a steel air-ballon. Balloon Flower  is the perfect example of the ability of the American artist to transform – with a maniacal attention to the details – a common imagine in a popular mythology.
