Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable

Fino al 3 dicembre 2017
Venezia, Fondazione Pinault

Per la pima volta la Fondazione Pinault di Venezia offre entrambe le sedi a un solo artista: Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable è letteralmente la materializzazione di uno fantasmagorico tesoro creato dall’irriverente visionarietà di Damien Hirst.

Martial Raysse

fino al 30 novembre 2015
Venezia, Palazzo Grassi

Italics restarts the thought on the Italian art from the 1968, date of the end of Italian Metamorphosis, the exhibition curated by Germano Celant in the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 1995. It’s also the occasion to “show” the 106 Bonami’s artists in the USA, a reality that has always confined the Italian modern art to only few names. In 2009 in fact the exhibition will be moved in the Chicago Museum with  The Cubic Meter of Infinity in a Mirroring Cube (1966-2007) by Michelangelo Pistoletto, the refined three-dimensional canvases by Agostino Bonalumi (Bianco e nero, 1968), the shadow games by Bruno Munari, the ironic Bidibidobidiboo (1995) by Cattelan, the little poor squirrel that has suicides himself in the ant kitchen of our childhood. The young generation is represented by Giuseppe Gabellone (L’assetato, 2008), Alice Cattaneo and Patrick Tuttofuoco.
If it’s true that there are some omissions (as Plessi, Kounellis, Paladino...) it’s also true that the personal choice by Francesco Bonami marvels in every room. For further information: www.palazzograssi.it

Italics (1)

fino al 22 marzo 2009
Venezia, Palazzo Grassi

What’s the Francesco Bonami’s idea of the Italian sculpture in the last 40 years? Italics opens with 8 marbles by Maurizio Cattelan (All, 2008) and with an Italy by Luciano Fabro. The path – that has not a chronological sequence – comes back soon to the 60’s that’s have seen the birth of the “arte povera” that is here represented by Giuseppe Penone: Essere fiume 4 makes a comparison between two stones, one carved by the artist and the other one by the natural wrapping of the water river. The personal reflection by Carol Rama (Presagi di Birman) is like a mirror of the anxiety of an entire generation, that has been transformed in irony by the genius of Pino Pascali with his big Vedova blu in wood and synthetic fur (1968) or the Paradise tree by Gino Marotta or again the Cassetto con strisce (1987-89) by Stefano Arienti.

Ballon Dog (Magenta) – Jeff Koons

1994-2000
Acciaio inossidabile cromato
Venezia, collezione F. Pinault

Anche Venezia ha i suoi Koons da quando F. Pinault ha “depositato” la sua collezione a Palazzo Grassi e proprio all’artista venne affidata l’accoglienza della mostra di apertura - Where are we going ?

Also Venice has its own Koons from when F. Pinault has “moved” his collection in Palazzo Grassi and the welcome of the opening exhibition – Where are we going ? – was just entrusted to the artist by Hanging Heart (1994-2006) hanged on the central court and Ballon Dog settled beside the entrance on Canal Grande.
