Fausto Melotti

2008
Istituto Italiano di Cultura, New York, 686 Park Ave Fino al 30 maggio
Acquavella Galleries, New York, fino al 6 giugno

The Fausto Melotti’s genius (1901-1986) is actually celebrating in New York by two solo-exhibition: one in the Acquavella Galleries with a hundred of works and the other one – I Viaggi di Fausto Melotti. Drawings & sculptures – at the Italian Cultural Institute that has opened its elegant spaces to 3 sculptures, 14 drawings and 4 photos by Ugo Mulas, also the one taken at the Venice Biennale in 1966. They are both two noiseless expositions as is silent the artist  and in particular in the one in the I.I.C. that puts side by side the graphic works with the sculptures it’s possible to understand as “it’s always a tale [...] an idea has always its root in the one before [...] they share the same context [...] they have only a spiritual father”.
