In un allestimento
elegantissimo, la mostra offre sia un percorso iconografico su “la donna che
legge”, partendo da un’antica immagine della madonna con il vangelo sulle
ginocchia per arrivare a Picasso, sia un riflessione sul peso che la lettura ha
avuto nel processo creativo di Gabrielle Chanel.
Libri rari o oggetti preziosi si
alternano alla testimonianza della frequentazione di Pierre Reverdy, Max Jacob
o Jean Cocteau.

In a very elegant set up, the exhibition offers both an iconographic
path on the “reading woman” subject, from an ancient image of the Virgin
reading the Vangel to some Picasso, both a reflection on the influence of
reading on the Gabrielle Chanel creative process.
Rare books or precious objects interchange with the witnesses of the
direct knowledge of Pierre Reverdy, Max
Jacob o Jean Cocteau.
