È ricca di soprese l’intelligente mostra che la Collezione Peggy Guggenheim ha dedicato alla produzione del secondo dopoguerra raccontando il dialogo tra figurazione e astrazione, dal 1942 al 1979. Ampio lo spazio dedicato alla scultura con Consagra (amico di Peggy Guggenheim), Pomodoro, una straordinaria stanza con i leoni di Mirko Basaldella, all’omaggio alla scultrice americana Claire Falkenstein che sperimentò l’abbinamento tra la fusione del metallo e il vetro di Murano.

The intelligent and surprising exhibition proposed by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection on the post-war art displays the dialogue between figurative and abstraction from 1942 to 1979. The sculpture has a wide space with Consagra (Peggy Guggenheim’s friend), Pomodoro, an extraordinary room with the lions by Mirko Basaldella and the final homage to the American sculptor  Claire Falkenstein who experimented the combination between the fusion of the metals and the Murano glass.

Bellissima mostra che svela ai francesi Adolfo Wildt, scultore dal grande virtuosismo tecnico. Visionario, capace di mescolare le istanze liberty con la saldezza secessionista: occhieggia a Rodin, ma anche all’antico, a Canova alle distorsioni della scultura gotica quanto alla crudezza della pittura di Cosmé Tura. Tutti passaggi ben sottolineati dall’esposizione, quanto l’importanza della sua lezione sul vuoto per gli allievi di Brera, come Lucio Fontana e Fausto Melotti.

The beautiful exhibition reveals Adolfo Wildt to France, a sculptor of great skill. He was a visionary, capable to mix Liberty issues with the firmness of the Secession: he looked at Rodin, but also at the ancient sculpture, till Antonio Canova passing by the distortions of the gothic sculpture and the dryness of Cosmé Tura’s painting. All the passages has been well underlined by this exhibition, that does not forget the Wildt’s influence on his Brera pupils, as Lucio Fontana and Fausto Melotti.

È sempre curioso vedere come un artista si rapporta al tema del gioiello; in questo senso Precious mostra alcuni esempi da pezzi storici come Balla, Man Ray, Dalì, Fontana … fino ad artisti viventi.

It’s always curious to observe as an artist approach the production of a jewel. In this sense Precious shows some examples starting from historic works by Balla, Man Ray, Dalì, Fontana… till today artists.

Museo del vetro

Murano, Venezia

Ha riaperto ieri dopo anni di restauro il Museo del Vetro di Murano che offre un percorso nella storia del vetro veneziano dalle origini ai nostri giorni con straordinari pezzi come il magnifico Trionfo in forma di giardino all’italiana (XVIII secolo) o il Concetto spaziale in vetro di Lucio Fontana. Il percorso si snoda all’interno di uno splendido palazzo ristrutturato nel Settecento.

The Glass Museum in Murano has reopened yesterday after some years of restoration. It offers an history of the Venetian glass from the origin till today with some extraordinary works as the Triumph in form of an Italian garden (XVIII century) or the glass Spatial concept by Lucio Fontana. The path takes place in a gorgeous palace restored in the XVIII century.
