Venezia, Le Stanze del Vetro

È dedicata all’intera produzione vetraria di Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) la straordinaria mostra curata da Luca Massimo Barbero a Le Stanze del Vetro: un percorso che va dal primo oggetto in vetro creato nel 1947 agli ultimi vasi/sculture realizzati al C.I.R.V.A. di Marsiglia (1999-2006) passando per l’inedita serie per la Millennium House di Doha.

Ettore Sottsass: the glass is the gorgeous exhibition entirely dedicated to the glass production of Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) and curated by Luca Massimo Barbero at the Stanze del Vetro: from the first object created in 1947 to the last vase/sculptures realized to the C.I.R.V.A. in Marseille (1999-2006) passing from the series of glasses designed for the Millennium House in Doha.

Chen Zhen – Les pas silencieux

Dopo undici anni la Galleria Continua ospita nuovamente un’ampia personale di Chen Zhen, artista cinese, stroncato a soli 45 anni da una malattia che ha profondamente segnato anche la sua opera fatta di riflessione, tensione alla comprensione e al superamento dei conflitti. Les pas silenciuex offre una panoramica da lavori più noti, come Beyond the vulnerability e La Désinfection, sino alla spettacolare installazione Field of Synergy pensata appositamente per gli spazi dell’ex cinema di San Giminiano.

After 11 years the Continua Gallery presents a great solo exhibition of Chen Zhen, the Chinese artist dead at 45 by a terrible disease that has deeply influenced his work, too. He’s always looking for a silent reflection, and a tension to the comprehension and the crossing of conflicts. Les pas silenciuex offers an overlook from known works as Beyond the vulnerability and La Désinfection, till the spectacular installation Field of Synergy, a site specific work for the ex-cinema in San Giminiano.

Murano, Museo del vetro

Nell’ambito della Biennale Internazionale del vetro il museo di Murano ospita quattro artisti - Vincent Breed, Joan Crous, Bert Frijns e Caroline Prisse – che hanno eletto il vetro a mezzo espressivo. Sia esso autonomo, come una scultura tradizionale, o associato al design e dunque legato all’uso quotidiano, il vetro mantiene una prospettiva onirica, legata inevitabilmente alla propria trasparenza e fragilità.
In the occasion of the International Glass Biennial the museum in Murano presents four artists -  Vincent Breed, Joan Crous, Bert Frijns e Caroline Prisse – who have chosen the glass as the material of their expressivity. The glass could be employed as a common material of the sculpture or could be connected with the design but, in any case, it keeps its deep nature of transparence and fragility.

Inaugurata lo scorso venerdì, la mostra si concentra principalmente sulla traduzione in scultura delle 55 stampe di Hiroshige: attraverso la complessità tecnica e la luminosità del vetro infatti Kuroki interpreta il viaggio intrapreso dall’artista nel 1882 in un Giappone ancora profondamente agricolo. Affiancano i pannelli storici alcuni oggetti – vasi, scatole decorate, lanterne – che abbattono l’antica distinzione tra arti minori e maggiori. Last Friday it has been inaugurated this exhibition that is concentrated mostly on the translation in sculpture of the 55 Hiroshige’s prints: by the technical complexity and the brightness of the glass Kuroki reads the travel that the artist made in 1882 in a Japan still deeply agricultural. Nei suggestivi spazi della fornace Andromeda Michela Vianello si è esibita tra le duemila sfere di Dynamei: un’installazione di oltre tre metri d’altezza che riporta il vetro muranese nell’ambito della sperimentazione artistica, in una magica riflessione su gesto, lo spirito e il tempo.

In the suggestive spaces of Andromeda, Michela Vianello has performed herself between the 2000 spheres of her Dynamei: an installation of more than 3 meters, capable to carry the Murano glass in the field of the art experimentation, in a magic reflection on gesture, spirit and time.

Undici prestigiose aziende muranesi si sono unite per dar vita alla prima edizione di FareVetro, una mostra ospitata dagli splendidi spazi – giardini inclusi – del Museo del Vetro di Murano. Tra opere site specific e pezzi storici la mostra riunisce un centinaio di opere mescolate alla collezione del museo: ecco dunque che gli animali della vetreria Effe si inseguono attorno alla vera a pozzo e che i fiori di Simone Giovanni Cenedese fioriscono in giardino accanto a un letto di vetro. Le carte da gioco di Gino Cenedese chiudono una vetrina del piano superiore dedicata al colore con i servizi di Nason e Moretti. Un tavolo infine nella sala del Settecento espone con eleganza la sobrietà di alcuni pezzi tra cui I gemelli di Seguso Viro. Per maggiori informazioni, www.museiciviciveneziani.it

Eleven prestigious companies from Murano has joined for the first edition of FareVetro, an exhibition mounted in all the spaces – also the garden – of the Glass Museum in Murano. Between site specific works and singular pieces the exhibition mixes about one hundred works with the usual collection: so the glass animals by Effe are hounding around the marble well  and the flowers by Simone Giovanni Cenedese are blooming in the garden beside a glass bed. The cards by Gino Cenedese close a very coloured show case where there are the pieces by Nason and Moretti, too.
